The business of European ski culture

Come up - slow down.

Ciao everyone. January’s deep dive issue is a fun one! Since so many of you love skiing in Europe (68% of Stanza readers prefer EU ski resorts according to this poll), it would be only essential to do a deep dive of ski culture that has been a staple in European leisure for over a century.

This deep dive essay is written by Lucy Beauchamp. Lucy works with and invests in emerging lifestyle, fashion, beauty and wellness brands, supporting founders with fundraising, commercial strategy and brand partnerships. She has an MBA from London Business School where she specialised in luxury strategy.

Welcome to The Stanza's deep dive into European ski culture. As we arrive in January, heady summer holiday footage feels like a distant memory, with rosé-laden ice buckets swapped for vin chaud on the slopes (or Jeroboams of Dom Perignon Luminous, for those seemingly unaffected by ‘quiet luxury’). From December to March, the jet set climb down from the sandy tables of St Tropez and into the lavish clubs of St Moritz, Gstaad, Verbier and Courchevel 1850 - choose your fighter - with just a little more Loro Piana in tow. Thank you for your readership, and as always, sharing to a friend who would find The Stanza interesting or valuable is greatly appreciated. Now without further ado…
